The skull was roughly 2,600 years old, and the brain that belonged to it was pickled by the Northern sea, helping it withstand the test of time. Some think that this person's head was removed and ritualistically separated from its owner's body to preserve the brain, but it seems more like a simple coincidence from a scientific standpoint.
