If you're ever in the mood to bawl your eyes out, just watch episode 10 of Violet Evergarden. Violet provides her letter-writing services to a terminally ill mother and her young daughter, Anne. Anne becomes upset that her mom would rather spend the precious time she has left to write letters with Violet instead of being with her. It's only until the last few minutes that we realize the true purpose of her mom's letters. In just a single episode, the series paints a beautiful and moving story about loss and a mother's love for her child.
