Animation makes improv way more fun since actors can say pretty much anything that can later be drawn. That's exactly what happened when voice actor Josh Gad was joking around in the studio as his character, Olaf the Snowman. He mimicked being stabbed with an icicle and cheerily reported: "Oh, look at that, I've been impaled!" The directors thought it was hilarious, and animated it into the film.
