Tom Hanks is certainly not one to wait around for help. In the scene where Tom Hanks gets up out of his gurney and picks it up to throw in the back on the ambulance, that was all from the actor himself. He didn't even plan it really. He claims to have only thrown it in at the last minute, thinking of it on the spot while it was happening. It was pure comedy gold though.
