Lenoir caught a glimpse of what awaited them and felt his heart sink. The kids on the bus shouted for help, but it was no use. There was nothing anybody could do but prepare themselves for impact. Nicholas' jaw dropped as the reality of their grim situation finally set in—the bus was heading straight for a lake.
